We brought this platform to life with a team of four young and motivated students from Windesheim Honours College in Zwolle, The Netherlands. Together with our partners, we are on a mission to change the narrative around discriminatory Single Stories. We each do this from a personal passion:
Hi, my name is Lena and I am a 23-year-old student in the Netherlands. With my whole heart, I believe in the good in people and envision a world where we can meet at eye-level without judgement. My passion lies in amplifying voices and understanding what makes the world think the way it does in order to create positive social and societal change. With the influence of language and storytelling, I want to become witness of the power that lies beyond the Single Stories in this world.
My name is Janna, I am 21 years old, and come from a small town in the Netherlands. I live and breathe a passion for social-economic justice and love the humanizing power of storytelling. I hope for a world where curiosity and compassion are our first reflexes when we meet somebody who feels very new to us. In setting up this platform, and the research prior to it, I learned so much already, simply by listening to other people’s experiences. I’m hooked! I can’t wait to learn more about you all!
Hi, my name is Léa, I am a 21 one year old student, an enthusiast, and I love to emerge myself in new things. I grew up bilingual and intercultural and I love to surround myself with different, warm-hearted people. Diversity and Inclusion are very close to my heart. I envision a world, where we encounter as individuals at eye level without clichés and with the same opportunities. My conviction to stand together with other people for a just and diverse world is my personal motivation.
Hi, my name is Valerie. I am 22 years old and currently living and studying in Zwolle, the Netherlands. I am passionate about social justice and equal opportunities for everyone, no matter the background or the boxes people are put into. I hope for a peaceful world in which we meet as individuals, set aside prejudices and attempt to embrace each other’s differences instead. I believe Storytelling cannot only change our personal perceptions, but evolve entire societies for the better.
